Monday Message -Tit for Tat

A man was fond of catching fish. He used to search a lake or pond wherever he’d travel. Once he was catching fish in an unknown city sitting at a lakeside. He was putting the fish inside a water filled bucket. When he caught a handful of them he stood up to go back to his hotel.

A government official stopped him and asked arrogantly “Don’t you know it’s not allowed to catch fish in this lake?” The man replied, “No. There is no such notice board here.”

The official got more than happy to hear this and said, “Don’t you worry, I won’t let you bear much loss. The fine of catching fish here is 100 dollars. You give me 10 dollars and leave easily.”

Now the man got angry but he said very calmly, “It’s not allowed to catch fish here but I came here for my fish to take some fresh air. I leave them daily in a pond or slake and when I blow a whistle they all come back to me.”

The official didn’t trust a bit on the man. He said humorously, “Oh really? Prove it to me then.” The man had no objection in that. He poured entire bucket filled with fish into the lake. And turned to go back. The official stopped him and said, “Hey call the fish back.” The man replied, “What fish? I was here to roam around empty handed.” (lol)

Presence of mind is always needed. Especially when one wants to befool you and gain some benefit out of your ignorance. There is no wrong using tit for tat in such conditions.
