Monday Message – Make the Turtle Come Out of Its Shell

It was a fine winter morning. A little child found a small turtle somewhere. The turtle was going its way. The child saw the turtle and picked it up. Finding his touch the turtle, according to its nature, immediately went inside its shell. The child tried million times, but the turtle didn’t extract its hands and mouth. The child tried to pull them out, poked it with a stick but the turtle did not budge. Eventually the child brought the turtle home. He thought the turtle will come out of its shell after some time. But the turtle would peep and again put the face inside. The child kept food and water in front of it, but even this did not affect the turtle.
The child kept on waiting long. His uncle was watching him constantly. Finally he said, “In any case the turtle will not come out of its shell. Come, I tell you the exact way to bring the turtle out.” Then he picked up the turtle and placed it near the room heater. As soon as the turtle felt the warmth it slowly took out its head first and then hands and legs too.
Child was amazed to see it. The thing he was trying for hours yet failed was jut few minutes task. His uncle said, “Turtles come out of shell like this only and even humans too. You can not force them to do anything. Only your warmth of feelings and kindness make them open to you.”
